Biography
A Representative from Kentucky; born in Pulaski County, Ky., in 1804; moved with his parents to Wayne County; received a limited education; learned the trade of brickmaker in Monticello when about fifteen years of age; studied law; was admitted to the bar and practiced; member of the State house of representatives 1829-1834 and in 1846; elected as a Whig to the Twenty-fourth, Twenty-fifth, and Twenty-sixth Congresses (March 4, 1835-March 3, 1841); chairman, Committee on Invalid Pensions (Twenty-sixth Congress); was not a candidate for reelection; moved to one of the Southern States, where he died; death date unknown.Courtesy of Biographical Directory of the United States Congress
