Biography
(Daughter of Arch Alfred Moore, Jr.), a Senator and Representative from West Virginia; born in Glendale, Marshall County, W.Va., November 26, 1953; B.S., Duke University, Durham, N.C., 1975; M.Ed., University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Va., 1976; college counselor; member, West Virginia state house of representatives, 1997-2001; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Seventh and to the six succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2001-January 3, 2015); was not a candidate for reelection to the House of Representatives but was elected as a Republican to the United States Senate in 2014; reelected in 2020 for the term ending January 3, 2027; vice-chair, Republican Conference (2023-).
