A Representative from Ohio; born in Troy, Miami County, Ohio, February 17, 1964; graduated from Graham High School, St. Paris, Ohio, 1982; B.S., University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wis., 1986; M.A., The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, 1991; J.D., Capital University, Columbus, Ohio, 2001; lawyer, private practice; member of the Ohio state house of representatives, 1995-2000; member of the Ohio state senate, 2001-2006; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Tenth and to the eight succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2007-present), chair, Committee on the Judiciary (One Hundred Eighteenth Congress).
