Representative from Nevada; born in Jamaica, Queens County, N.Y., October 30, 1961; graduated from Wallenpaupack Area High School, Hawley, Pa., 1979; B.S., Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pa., 1984; D.O., Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia, Pa., 1988; M.S.S., United States Army War College, Carlisle, Pa., 2006; United States Army Reserve, 1991-2024; brigadier general; physician; business owner; faculty, Touro University, Henderson, Nevada; faculty, Community College of Southern Nevada; faculty, University of Nevada School of Medicine, Las Vegas, Nevada; faculty, Uniformed Services University, Bethesda, Md., 1998-2003; member of the Nevada state senate, 2004-2008; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Twelfth and to the two succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2011-January 3, 2017); was not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Fifteenth Congress in 2016, but as an unsuccessful candidate for election to the United States Senate.Courtesy of Biographical Directory of the United States Congress
