Representative from New York; born in Rockville Centre, Nassau County, N.Y., May 13, 1964; graduated from Ichabod Crane High School, Kinderhook, N.Y.; B.A., Siena College, Loudonville, N.Y., 1986; M.P.A., Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y., 1995; Ph.D., Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y., 1998; New York Army National Guard, 1981-1986; United States Army, 1986-2010; faculty, United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y.; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Twelfth and to the two succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2011-January 3, 2017); was not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Fifteenth Congress in 2016.
