Council, 2008-2010; member of the Indiana state senate, 2010-2016; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Fifteenth and to the three succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2017-January 3, 2025); was not a candidate for reelection to the House of Representatives but was elected as a Republican to the United States Senate in 2024 for the term ending January 3, 2031.
