Representative from California; born in Fort Dodge, Webster County, Iowa, January 3, 1974; B.A., Yale University, New Haven, Conn., 1996; J.D., Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass., 2001; law professor; staff, office of the attorney general, Calif. state department of justice, 2012-2014; faculty, University of California, Irvine, Calif., 2011-2018; elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Sixteenth and to the two succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2019-January 3, 2025); was not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Nineteenth Congress in 2024, but was an unsuccessful candidate for nomination to the United States Senate.
