Representative from Colorado; born in Tachikawa, Tokyo, Japan, July 29, 1957; graduated from South High School, Denver, Colo., 1975; B.A., Colorado College, Colorado Springs, Colo., 1979; J.D., New York University, New York, N.Y., 1982; lawyer, private practice; deputy, appellate division, office of Colo. state public defender, 1982-1984; law journal editor; member of the Colorado state house of representatives, 1992-1996; elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Fifth and to the thirteen succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1997-present); one of the managers appointed by the House of Representatives in 2021 to conduct the impeachment proceedings of Donald J. Trump, President of the United States.
