A Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Philadelphia, Pa., January 16, 1869; attended the public schools and Pierce Business College, Philadelphia, Pa., 1891-1893; engaged in merchandise warehousing and transportation since 1886; also engaged in banking; elected as a Republican to the Seventy-eighth Congress (January 3, 1943-January 3, 1945); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1944 to the Seventy-ninth Congress; elected in 1946 to the Eightieth Congress (January 3, 1947-January 3, 1949); unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1948; returned to merchandise warehousing and transportation business; died in Philadelphia, Pa., December 8, 1957; interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Pa.
