Biography

Representative from Ohio; born in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio, July 2, 1873; attended the public schools and was graduated from the Cincinnati Law School in 1894; was admitted to the bar in 1894 and commenced practice in Hamilton, Ohio; prosecuting attorney of Butler County 1898-1903; judge of the court of common pleas 1907-1912; elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-third and to the three succeeding Congresses (March 4, 1913-March 3, 1921); was not a candidate for renomination in 1920; resumed the practice of law in Hamilton, Ohio, where he died November 1, 1929; interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
