Salazar; took the oath of office on January 22, 2009; elected as a Democrat to the U.S. Senate in 2010; reelected in 2016, and again in 2022 for the term ending January 3, 2029; chair, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (2013-2014); was an unsuccessful candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020.
