Biography

A Senator from New Jersey; born in Bound Brook. N.J., June 22, 1965; graduated University of Notre Dame, B.A., 1987; graduated The Catholic University of America, J.D., 1990; lawyer; assistant U.S. attorney 2002-2009; chief counsel to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie 2010-2011; attorney general of New Jersey 2012-2013; appointed as a Republican to the United States Senate on June 6, 2013, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Frank Lautenberg, took the oath of office on June 10, 2013; and served until October 30, 2013, a successor having been chosen in a special election; not a candidate for election to the unexpired portion of the term.
