Representative from New York; born in Greenbush (now Rensselaer), Rensselaer County, N.Y., March 23, 1791; member of the State assembly in 1839; elected as a Whig to the Twenty-ninth Congress and served from March 4, 1845, until his death in Washington, D.C., June 20, 1846; interment in Greenbush Cemetery, Greenbush (now Rensselaer), N.Y.
