REAGAN, Ronald Wilson; 30th Governor of California and 40th President of the United States; born in Tampico, IL., February 6, 1911; moved with his family to Chicago, IL.; moved with his family to Dixon , IL. in 1920; schooled in Dixon High School; enrolled in Eureka College; worked as a radio and film actor in California; enlisted in the Army Enlisted Reserve in 1937; reassigned to the First Motion Picture Unit in 1944; elected to Board of Directors of the Screen Actors Guild in 1941; elected Vice President of the Screen Actors Guild in 1946; elected President of the Screen Actors Guild in 1947; reelected in 1947 and six consecutive years; elected Governor of California in 1966; reelected in 1970; declined to run for reelection in 1974; unsuccessful candidate for the Republican Nomination for President of the United States in 1976; elected President of the United States in 1980; reelected in 1984; retired to Bel Air, CA.; died of pneumonia and complications of Alzheimer's disease on June 5, 2004; lay in state in Washington, D.C.; interment at Ronald W. Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, CA.
