CLINTON, William Jefferson; 40th and 42nd Governor of Arkansas and 42nd President of the United States; born in Hope, AK., August 19, 1946; schooled at St. John's Catholic Elementary School, Ramble Elementary School, and Hot Springs High School; enrolled in Georgetown University and graduated with a B.S. in 1968; awarded Rhodes Scholarship in 1968; studied at University College, Oxford; enrolled in Yale Law School, Yale University and earned a J.D. degree in 1973; worked as law professor at University of Arkansas; unsuccessful candidate for House of Representatives in 1972; elected Arkansas Attorney General in 1967; elected Governor of Arkansas in 1978; unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1980; elected Governor of Arkansas in 1982; reelected in 1986; elected as Democratic President of the United States in 1992; reelected in 1996; impeached by the United States House of Representatives in 1998 but acquitted by the United States Senate in 1999; created the William J. Clinton Foundation in in 1997.
