BUSH, George Walker, (son of President George H. W. Bush and grandson of
Prescott Sheldon Bush), 46th Governor of Texas and 43rd President of the United States; born in New Haven, CT., July 6, 1946; moved with his family to Midland, TX.; schooled in public schools, The Kinkaid School in Houston, TX, and Philips Academy in Andover, MA.; enrolled in Yale University in 1964 and graduated with a B.A. in History; enrolled in Harvard Business School and graduated with an M.B.A. in 1975; commissioned into the Texas Air National Guard in 1968; operated Arbusto Energy in 1977; unsuccessful candidate for House of Representatives in 1978; served as managing general partner of the Texas Rangers in 1989; elected Governor of Texas in 1994; reelected in 1998; elected as Republican President of the United States in 2000 after
