Description: TO ADOPT THE CONFERENCE REPORT ON H R 2409 NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HEALTH AUTHORIZATIONS. THE ADOPTION OF THIS REPORT CLEARS THE LEGISLATION FOR THE PRESIDENT. THE REPORT EXTENDS FUNDING THAT IS SCHEDULED TO EXPIRE FOR AUTHORITIES IN N.I.H., INCREASES FUNDING FOR SOME ON-GOING RESEARCH (INCLUDING BIOMMEDICAL RESEARCH), AND CREATES NEW PROGRAMS FOR REASEARCH (INCLUDING RESEARCH INTO LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS). THE REPORT ALSO ESTABLISHES A CENTER FOR NURSING RESEARCH AND THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ARTHRITIS AND MUSCULOSKELETAL AND SKIN DISEASE. THE LEGISLATION APPROPRIATES $7.7 BILLION BETWEEN 1986 AND 1988 FOR THESE PROJECTS.
