Description: TO RECEDE FROM SENATE AMENDMENT TO H.R. 208 (4 STAT 516, MAY 22, 1832) APPORTIONING THE REPRESENTATIVES AMONG THE SEVERAL STATES ACCORDING TO THE FIFTH CENSUS, WHICH AMENDMENT PROPOSES TO ELIMINATE THE PROVISION THAT FROM AND AFTER MARCH 3, 1833, THE HOUSE OF REPS. SHALL BE COMPOSED OF MEMBERS ELECTED ACCORDING TO THE RATIO OF ONE REPRESENTATIVE FOR EVERY 47, 000 PERSONS IN EACH STATE WHOSE FRACTIONAL NUMBER REMAINING AFTER ITS WHOLE NUMBERS ARE DIVIDED BY 47,000 SHALL EXCEED 25,000 PERSONS, THE SAID NUMBER OF REPRESENTATIVES OF ANY STATE NOT TO EXCEED ONE FOR EVERY 30,000 PERSONS.
