Description: TO RECEED FROM THE AMENDMENTS TO H.R. 579, A BILL MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE NAVAL SERVICE FOR THE YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 1856, WHICH AMENDMENTS APPROPRIATE FOR THE ESTABLISHMENTS OF A NAVAL DEPOT ON THE RIVER MISSISSIPPI AND FOR A NAVY-YARD IN MEMPHIS AND PROVIDES THAT UP TO EIGHT OFFICERS OF THE TEXAS NAVY AND REVENUE MARINE, AT THE TIME OF ANNEXATION BE ENTITLED TO THE PAY AND LEAVE OF OFFICERS OF THE U.S. NAVY.
