Description: TO CONCUR IN A HOUSE AMENDMENT TO S. 350 (18-STAT-L.43), A BILL PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE BONDS OF THE LOUISVILLE AND PORTLAND CANAL COMPANY. THE AMENDMENT PROTECTS THE RIGHTS OF BONDHOLDERS OF THE LOUISVILLE AND PORTLAND CANAL COMPANY BY MAKING IT LAWFUL FOR TRUSTEES TO COMMENCE PROCEEDINGS IN ANY LAWFUL COURT AND TO AUTHORIZE THE ATTORNEY GENERAL TO TAKE STEPS TO PROTECT THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT IN CASE OF FAILURE OF THE APPROPRIATION FOR THE PAYMENT OF BONDS OF THE COMPANY.
