Bill summary: (Measure passed Senate, amended, roll call #24 (74-20)) Authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to increase the authorized acreage of the Redwood National Park to 106,000 acres. Provides that any action against the United States for the recovery of just compensation will lie in the United States district court for the district wherein the land is located. Authorizes to be appropriated such sums as are necessary for the implementation of contracts and cooperation agreements. Vests in the United (...show more) States all right, title, and interest in all real property and all down tree personal property indicated on the map entitled "Proposed Additions," Redwood National Park California. Authorizes the expending of such sums as may be necessary for the acquisition of land and down tree personal property. Directs the Secretary of the Interior to conduct an analysis of appropriate Federal actions that may be necessary or desirable to mitigate adverse economic impacts to public and private segments of the local economy, as a result of the addition of property to Redwood National Park. Directs the Secretaries of Commerce and Labor to apply existing programs in keeping with such goal pursuant to the study of the Secretary of the Interior. Directs the Secretary of Agriculture to prepare a study of timber harvest scheduling alternatives for the Six Rivers National Forest. Empowers the Secretary of the Interior to appoint additional personnel to assist in carrying out programs for enhancement of Redwood National Park. Directs the Secretary to submit an annual report to Congress on specified aspects of the Redwood National Park and a comprehensive management plan no later than January 1, 1980. Authorizes the Secretary to make payments in lieu of taxes to local governments for lands taken for inclusion within Redwood National Park.
