Description: TO TABLE THE SIMON, IL) AMENDMENT HR 5052, THE MILITARY CONSTRUCTION APPROPRIATIONS BILL, WHICH WOULD PROVIDE A UNITED STATES CONTRIBUTION OF $50 MILLION TO THE SPECIAL PROGRAM FOR SUB-SAHARAN AFRICAN COUNTRIES AFFECTED BY DROUGHT AND DESERTIFICATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL FUND FOR AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT, AND FUNDS THROUGH THE AGENCY FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT TO SUPPORT PROGRAMS FOR THE ERADICATION OF LOCUSTS AND OTHER PESTS THAT THREATEN FOOD SUPPLIES IN AFRICA. THE MONEY WAS TO BE TAKEN FROM $300 MILLION SPECIFIED FOR ECONOMIC AID FOR CENTRAL AMERICAN COUNTRIES.
