Biography
Representative from Maryland; born in Delaware, December 21, 1777; completed preparatory studies; served in the Regular Army as lieutenant of Engineers 1799-1802; register in chancery in Annapolis, Md.; served throughout the War of 1812 as aide-de-camp to General Winder; elected as a Jacksonian candidate to the Twenty-third Congress (March 4, 1833-March 3, 1835); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1834 to the Twenty-fourth Congress; died in Georgetown, D.C., June 12, 1854; interment in Oak Hill Cemetery, Washington, D.C.Courtesy of Biographical Directory of the United States Congress
