Description: TO AMEND S. 60 (13 STAT 35-MAR. 21, 1864), AN ACT AMENDATORY OF THE HOMESTEAD LAW AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES; WHICH AMENDMENT PROVIDES THAT NO NONCOMMISSIONED OFFICER, PRIVATE OR SEAMAN, WHO HAS BEEN IN THE MILITARY OR NAVAL SERVICE FOR NO LESS THAN THREE MONTHS AND HAS BEEN HONORABLE DISCHARGED THEREFROM, SHALL PAY THE TEN DOLLAR FEE OR THE COMMISSION MENTIONED IN THIS ACT; AND THAT, IF HE IS A CITIZEN OR HAS DECLARED HIS INTENTIONS TO BE ONE, AND HAS BEEN IN THE SERVICE FOR NO LESS THAN TWO YEARS AND HAS BEEN HONORABLY DISCHARGED, HE SHALL BE ENTITLED TO A PATENT IF HE HAS RESIDED IN OR CULTIVATED HIS LAND FOR ONE YEAR.
