Description: TO AMEND H.J. RES. 1131, MAKING FURTHER CONTINUING APPROPRIATIONS FOR FISCAL 1975, BY PROHIBITING FUNDS FOR ECONOMIC AND MILITARY ASSISTANCE TO TURKEY UNTIL THE PRESIDENT CERTIFIES TO CONGRESS THAT A SATISFACTORY AGREEMENT HAS BEEN REACHED REGARDING MILITARY FORCES IN CYPRUS.
Bill summary: (LATEST SUMMARY)
Provides for a continuation of the appropriations for fiscal year 1975 to various executive departments and agencies, the legislative branch, the District of Columbia, the Postal Service, and other such agencies.
Prohibits the use of funds made available by this joint resolution for military assistance to Turkey until the President certifies to the Congress that the Government of Turkey is in compliance with the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, and the Foreign Military
Sales Act, and that substantial progress toward agreement has been made regarding military force in Cyprus.
Authorizes the President to use not in excess of $15,000,000 of the funds made available by this joint resolution for relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction assistance in connection with the damage caused by floods in Honduras and Bangladesh, and by civil strife in Cyprus.
Prohibits the use of funds made available under this joint resolution for military assistance to Chile.
Authorizes the use of not in excess of $85,000,000 of the funds made available by this joint resolution for the procurement of fertilizers for South Vietnam.
