Description: TO CONCUR IN THE AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE TO THE BILL S. 257 (5 STAT. L. 502, APP. 8/4/1842), TO PROVIDE FOR THE ARMED SETTLEMENT OF A PORTION OF THE PENINSULA OF EAST FLORIDA. THE AMENDMENT PROVIDES FOR THE DONATION OF ONE QUARTER SECTION OF LAND TO THOSE WHO WOULD SETTLE AND OCCUPY SAME FOR FIVE SUCCESSIVE YEARS.
